GUIDE

Cards, IDs, and logins. Not the card verification code.

Wallet is the place in ForeverVault for cards, IDs, and logins. It sits behind a separate 6-digit PIN. It is not the document vault, and it is not ForeverBinder. Free includes a Wallet for three cards, IDs, or logins. Paid plans include an unlimited Wallet. The account recovery key does not reset the Wallet PIN. ForeverVault does not claim PCI compliance for Wallet.

Reasonable things to store

Cards and IDs

A card you want to identify later, and identity documents you are willing to keep in Wallet, fit this feature. Store what you would want available after you unlock the PIN.

Logins

Website and app logins can live here so they are not on a sticky note. Treat each login as sensitive. Wallet is not a substitute for the recovery method that the account provider offers.

A short label

Name the item so you can tell cards apart later. A label is not a place to hide the PIN of the card or the verification code.

What not to store

No card verification code

Do not store the card verification code, sometimes called a CVV, CVC, or CID. Do not photograph the back of the card in order to keep that code.

Not a PCI claim

Storing a card in Wallet is not a statement that the Wallet is PCI certified, and ForeverVault does not claim PCI compliance.

Not the signed will

Wills, deeds, and policy PDFs belong in the vault, not in Wallet. ForeverBinder, on a Paid plan, is where you organize the written picture of property, accounts, insurance, debts, documents, and contacts.

Who cannot open Wallet

Shares and legacy release

An individual share does not open Wallet. Legacy Share does not open Wallet. ForeverBinder does not open Wallet. If you want someone to know a login exists, say so in instructions without pasting the Wallet contents into the report.

Trusted Contact

A Trusted Contact can open current non-deleted Vault items after signing in with the designated email. Wallet contents are excluded. Naming a Trusted Contact is not a way to hand over cards and logins.

A forgotten PIN

If you forget the 6-digit PIN, the recovery key will not reset it, and a password reset will not reset it. Choose a PIN you can remember or record outside the Wallet.

ForeverVault stores and organizes information. It does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice, and it does not create wills or other legal documents.
