GUIDE

Prepare the information while you can still explain it.

The people who may need your information are often family, someone you trust, or legal counsel. They do not need every login and every paper on the first day. They need a current picture: where important documents are, which accounts and policies exist, what is owed, and whom to call. ForeverVault stores that information. ForeverBinder, on a Paid plan, turns what you enter into a structured multipage report. Preparing the information does not send the report, and it does not make anyone your executor.

Decide who the information is for

Name specific people

Choose family, someone you trust, or legal counsel. An attorney is optional. A group message to everyone in the family creates copies you cannot reliably take back.

Separate roles

An executor administers an estate under a will and applicable law. A Trusted Contact is a ForeverVault role, not an executor.

Say what you are not doing

ForeverVault stores and organizes information. It does not write a will, create a trust, or give legal advice. Free forms elsewhere on the site are general templates, not state statutory forms, and are not guaranteed to satisfy the law of any jurisdiction.

What to write down

The practical picture

Property, accounts, insurance, debts, legal documents you already have, important contacts, and short instructions. Note where a signed original is kept when the law may require that original.

How sharing works

You can share designated content immediately, on a future date, or with Legacy Share. Legacy Share releases only what you designated, after the recipient signs in, makes a sworn declaration, and a notice and waiting period run.

What stays separate

Wallet contents are not included in a Trusted Contact opening, an individual share, ForeverBinder, or a legacy release. Wallet uses its own 6-digit PIN.

Leave instructions they can follow

Contacts and wishes

Include the attorney, insurer, financial institution, or other person you want called, with a number that still works. Instructions can say where an original will is kept and who should be told.

Create the report when you are ready

On a Paid plan you can build ForeverBinder from the information you enter. Creating it, or updating it later, does not send it and does not release it.

Tell them the account email

A recipient uses the email you designated. They need a ForeverVault account on that email. If you later change your mind, revoke the share or the Trusted Contact.

ForeverVault stores and organizes information. It does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice, and it does not create wills or other legal documents.
