A Trusted Contact opens Vault items. Not Wallet. Not as an executor.
A Trusted Contact is a person you name in ForeverVault. After that person signs in with the exact email you designated, they can open all current non-deleted Vault items, including items you add later. They do not receive the vault as an email package. A death report is not required. Wallet contents are excluded. A Trusted Contact is not an executor.
What they can open
Current Vault items
The access covers Vault items that exist and are not deleted, including documents you add after you name the Trusted Contact. It is not limited to a list you froze on the day you sent the invitation.
They sign in
The person uses the exact designated email and a ForeverVault account on that email. Access is inside the account. ForeverVault does not email them a package of your files.
No death report
Trusted Contact access does not wait for a death report or for Legacy Share. If you wanted access only after the Legacy Share steps, use Legacy Share for designated content instead of, or in addition to, this role.
What they cannot open
Wallet stays closed
Wallet contents are excluded. Cards, IDs, and logins remain behind the separate 6-digit Wallet PIN. The recovery key does not reset that PIN.
Not an emailed report
ForeverBinder is a report you create on a Paid plan. Naming a Trusted Contact does not email that report. Creating or updating the report does not send it or release it. Wallet stays excluded either way.
Not an estate appointment
An executor administers an estate under a will and applicable law. ForeverVault does not appoint an executor by this setting. The same human being might serve in both roles outside the product.
Changing your mind
Revocation
You can revoke a Trusted Contact. Revocation stops future access. It cannot delete files that person already downloaded. Tell them if you need a copy returned.
Inactivity notices
ForeverVault may send verification notices. Lack of response may notify Trusted Contacts, restrict the account, or mark it inactive. An inactivity notification does not itself release additional content.
Free includes the designation
Trusted Contact designation is included on Free, together with sharing, three Vault items, 500 MB, and a Wallet for three items. The Trusted Contact still needs an account on the designated email.
