Three timings. You choose which content and which person.

Sharing in ForeverVault has three timings: Immediate, Delayed, and Legacy Share. All three apply to content you designate, for a recipient you name. They do not hand someone the entire vault, and they do not open Wallet. The recipient needs a ForeverVault account on the exact email you designate. You can revoke access later. Revocation stops future access and cannot delete a file that was already downloaded.

The three timings

Immediate

Immediate share makes the designated content available to that recipient now. Use it when someone should see a document while you are still here to explain it. You can take the share back.

Delayed

Delayed share waits for a future date only. It is not a guess about incapacity or death. If the date is wrong, or the person is wrong, cancel it before that date.

Legacy Share

Legacy Share is the timing for after a death is reported through the product steps. The designated recipient signs in, makes a sworn declaration under penalty of perjury, and you are notified.

What is released

Only designated content

A share releases the items you selected for that recipient. A death report does not open the entire vault. If you designated one document, that is the document in scope.

Notice and the wait

For Legacy Share, notice goes to you by email and by text if a phone number is stored. You can stop the release during the 3 calendar days.

Not Wallet, and not every file

Wallet contents are excluded from individual shares and from Legacy Share. Trusted Contact is a different control: after that person signs in with the designated email, they can open all current non-deleted Vault items.

What sharing is not

Not an email of the vault

The recipient signs in. They do not receive the vault as an email package. They need an account on the designated email.

Not triggered by silence

Inactivity does not release a document, send ForeverBinder, or establish that you have died. An inactivity notification does not itself release additional content. Delayed share runs on the date you set.

Not a legal appointment

Naming a recipient does not make that person your executor and does not make ForeverVault your lawyer. An attorney is optional. The share gives access to designated content under these rules.

ForeverVault stores and organizes information. It does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice, and it does not create wills or other legal documents.
